The Best Of T.S. Eliot

Bonjour friends! Hope you all are doing well. In my today’s blog, I am going to be telling you about a poem on a kitty. So friends does this take you to your Kindergarden days? Well, this isn’t a nursery rhyme, it is a great poem written by T.S. Eliot. Well, you might be knowing who he is but if you don’t know no problem. I will be telling you about T.S. Eliot and a poem written by him.

T.S. Eliot was a poet, a publisher, an editor, a literacy critic, a playwright, and an essayist. He was known as one of the best poets of the 20th Century. Did you know he is a central figure in English-language Modernist poetry? He was born on 26 September 1888 and died on 4 January 1965.

He was popularly known for his splendid and marvelous poems. Some of his poems are – The Waste Land, Ash Wednesday, Burnt Norton, The Naming of Cats, etc. One of his poems is Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat too. Let me tell you the summary of this poem.
Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat is written by T.S. Elliot. This poem is about an extraordinary and funny cat doing extraordinary acts on the train called ‘Night Mail’. This cat is portrayed as the manager of the train. He has a keen and anxious eye for details and does not discriminate between first-class and third-class passengers. The poet describes how the cat safeguards the railway passengers along their journey and wins their trust and respect in this poem. As the train stops by various places like Dumfries, Carlisle, Crewe, and Gallowgate, the poet talks about the different accomplishments done by the cat. Skimbleshanks, who is very specific, likes everything to be the way it should be; therefore, the train is organized and the passengers have a happy journey. Thus, they travel on the Night Mail again. So dear friends, how was it interesting or not? Well if it is, go to Google and search about this poem.

That’s the end of this blog coming toward us. So until then
