A Special Day!

Dear diary,

Today, I want to pen down some of the happiest moments I had during my celebration of Diwali. The festival of Diwali has passed and I had a lot of fun in the festive season. I met my friends, had fun eating sweets, and enjoyed the festival as much as I could. I must also admit that I did not burst any crackers owing to loss of interest and celebrating Diwali in an eco-friendly manner. We also conducted Lakshmi puja in our house.

I gave some of my old clothes for some sweepers and some poor people. Then I and my family went to buy sweets and savories.

After that, I went to my cousin’s house and we had fun there. At about evening, I decorated my house with the bulbs and lamps my dad had got me.

After decorating the house we connected the wires of the bulbs to a power outlet and watched it glow. It was truly marvelous! Besides, we also had a big party in our society. Some people burst crackers and some did not. However, I had great fun watching them. This year the festivities were less harmful to the environment so that made me a bit happier. It was wonderful when I reunited with my friends and family after the lockdown. And that night I also went out to dinner as a Diwali treat.

Also, the festival of Diwali was a great stress buster and it helped relieve the tensions of lockdown. So I hope you too had a great time celebrating Diwali and thanks for reading!
