Hello everyone!! I am back with a joyful blog, Hope you will enjoy my blog☺️
Makar Sankranti is celebrated with great joy and happiness every year on 14th January to mark the first day of the Sun's transition to Capricorn, it has many other names like in Gujarat it is known as Uttarayan, in Punjab as Lohri or Baisakhi, in Uttar Pradesh as Khichdi and many more.... Especially farmers celebrate this festival with honour and pay tributes to the Sun God because this festival is of harvest and the new season for cultivation of crops, and this is the time when the winter season begins to turn into summer.
Everyone starts their day by worshipping and offering prayers to the Lord Surya (Sun God). This festival holds considerable importance in the Hindu religion with a tremendous cultural significance. People also donate food, sweets and clothes to needy people to spread harmony and togetherness with everyone, and people decorate their homes beautifully with rangoli and flowers. Everyone also meet their relatives and friends to share their joy. People are beautifully dressed in traditional clothes with traditional jewellery. As this festival Is celebrated all over India so different areas of India has a different iconic view of celebrating this festival.
On this day sky looks very beautiful and vibrant as there are many colourful kites, people enjoy the most interesting activity of kiting with their families and friends. But the festival remains incomplete without food and sweets so, on this day the food is mainly made from rice and the sweets are made from til and jaggery, and I am sure that you have heard this phrase specially used in Maharashtra that 'Til gul ghaya god god bola' which means have sweets and talk sweet.
This festival unites all of us and we enjoy our each and every moment of this day with our family.☺️
