THE WORLD OF ASTEROID
Hey friends! I am Arya and I am back with another exciting blog today. Today I thought of discussing something unique and different so, I thought of bringing up the topic of space and astronomy. But today on the topic of astronomy we are going to take a visit to the world of asteroids. Asteroids are essential celestial bodies in our solar system, but still many people don't know much about it.
Asteroids are like small planets that orbit around the earth. There are about 150 million asteroids in our solar system. All asteroids are of different and irregular shapes. Some of them are spherical too. The surface of asteroids is very rough and they are covered with a lot of dust. An asteroid belt is a region located between the orbits of Jupiter and Mars and it is filled with many asteroids. The Kuiper belt is an area in the solar system that stretches beyond the orbit of Neptune and contains many asteroids, comets, meteors, and other pieces of rocks and ice. The Kuiper belt and the asteroid belt are similar but the Kuiper belt is much larger. Asteroids are formed with the collision of small leftover fragments of the planets and solar system 5 billion years ago. Asteroids and comets have many similarities. Like they both are celestial bodies that orbit our sun. They both don't have a fixed orbit. And both of these are fo7rmed with the fragmented process that was left when the solar system was formed around 5 billion years ago.
Now you know a lot about these unique celestial bodies in our solar system. Hope you liked my blog. Goodbye friends and see you in my next blog!
