The Remarkable National Flower Of India

 Whenever you walk beside a pond or a lake, your eyes would suddenly be caught by the beauty of the grand Lotus flower. And so here I am to tell some alluring facts about the Remarkable flower, Lotus.



The National Flower of India is the Lotus. It's also known as "Nelumbo Nucifera." The Lotus is in a unique position in the art and mythology of our ancient India.

Lotus is a sacred flower and is commonly found in pink and white colour. The other colours are blue and red. Lotus grows only in freshwater with muddy floors and needs a warm temperature, which means eight hours of sunlight.

Lotus grows in water and rises up by a long stalk, above the water surface. The leaves of a Lotus is round in shape and hollow in weight, so it can easily float up of the water. The stem of a Lotus is called a "Rhizome."

The Lotus flower symbolizes wealth, divinity, prosperity, honor, and knowledge. And if it's an Indian flower too, nowadays it's also found in Tropical America, Australia, Egypt, Japan, etc. More importantly, the Lotus flower's honey is used for the treatment of various eye diseases.
