The Two Brothers

 This is a story about two brothers. Once there were two brothers - Jack and Nick. Jack was very kind-hearted while nick was arrogant. Still, they played with each other well, but they also used to quarrel and brawl a lot. Unfortunately, they were from an indigent family. Their father was a washerman. The two brothers’ father worked very hard. Soon the boys grew up and the father became old, he could not carry much load all by himself.


Once, there was a function for 5 days at one of the client’s house so there were many clothes to wash, so the father took both his children to help him carry the load.
When they reached their father was in a lot of hurry so instead of telling both of his children he told only Jack to carry the entire heavy load. When they were going home Jack asked Nick for some help because the load was too heavy for just one to carry, but instead of helping his brother, Nick said “Father told you to carry this load, so you should do the work given to you all by yourself” and showed arrogance. A few minutes later Jack fell causing a loud THUD! Nick and his father looked behind, wondering what caused that noise, and saw Jack fallen on the ground. The father quickly removed all the sacks filled with clothes from above Jack and gave them to Nick. Jack was on bed rest for the next 7 days. So, Nick had to carry the entire load for the next 7 days.

Nick thought if he would not have been arrogant and would help his brother then he would not have to carry all the load and learned his lesson. After that day Nick started being a kind and helpful person.

Moral of the story – We should be friendly and helpful towards others.
